FOUNDERS’ GENERAL MEETING: key directions of the Association’s work approved

A meeting of the Association’s General Meeting was held at the Zakarpattia Regional Council, covering the following agenda items:

4. Selected organisational matters of the Association’s activities

The meeting was chaired by the Association’s Chair, Ruslan Yanchii.

During the meeting, the founding members together with the Executive Director, Denys Man, discussed the key tasks of the Association. In particular, the key directions for 2026 were approved, the Association’s logo was approved, the report was endorsed, and key projects planned for joint implementation by the four communities were defined.

The greatest attention was devoted to environmental topics, in particular the preparation of municipal waste management plans and the implementation of future measures. The participants discussed opportunities to strengthen community efforts together with the initiatives of the NGO “Chysto.De”, with which a Memorandum was signed in late April at the Bereg Zakarpatskoho Moria nature area. The communities agreed to prepare applications for international programme competitions to increase funding for planned environmental projects. The plans include expanding sorting sites, strengthening public information campaigns on waste sorting, and finding an optimal solution to landfill-related challenges.

In addition, projects related to energy efficiency in communities were discussed: improving street lighting, launching a project competition for active citizens, supporting small businesses in mountainous and rural areas, participating in international programmes in education, culture, and tourism, and seeking international partners for joint projects and programmes.
