Protecting the environment together with Chysto.De: a cooperation Memorandum signed

26 April 2026

On 26 April 2026, during the 26th “Eco Picnic” event at the «Bereg Zakarpatskoho Moria» landscape reserve, a Memorandum was signed between the public organisation “Chysto.De” and the Local Association of Local Self-Government Bodies «TeRA».

The purpose of the Memorandum is to deepen cooperation between the two organisations, expand interaction and mutual support, and achieve positive results in raising environmental awareness, restoring natural ecosystems, introducing modern waste-management solutions, and developing sustainable tourism in the Tereblya Valley.

The parties agreed to join efforts to stimulate, organise, and conduct environmental education events and activities that will help improve solid-waste handling culture, clean up the territories of the Tereblya Valley communities and the «Bereg Zakarpatskoho Moria» landscape reserve, and develop environmentally conscious and responsible tourism.

In addition, they agreed to work together on the development and implementation of initiatives, projects, and best infrastructure practices in the field of solid waste management that align with the principles of the circular economy and include potential for reinvestment into local environmental initiatives.

To protect and preserve valuable biodiversity, “Chysto.De” and «TeRA», together with the four communities of the Association, plan to develop and implement projects focused on restoration and environmental protection in the Tereblya Valley communities and the «Bereg Zakarpatskoho Moria» landscape reserve.

The Memorandum also provides for involving specialists from both organisations in joint expert work on matters related to the defined cooperation goals. One of the expected outcomes is a set of infrastructure, cultural, and environmental education activities aimed at engaging residents of the Synevyr, Kolochava, Drahiv, and Bushtyn communities and involving them in decision-making and in the implementation of relevant projects and programmes that meet community needs, improve quality of life, and increase the tourism attractiveness of the Carpathians.
